Because Life is Better with Teeth

Our History

Rooted in Kerrville. Growing with You.

A Tradition of Care, Carried Forward

The story of Hill Country Dental Associates is one of relationships, dedication, and a shared commitment to caring for generations of families throughout Kerrville and the Texas Hill Country. From the earliest days of Dr. Emil Willmann's neighborhood dental practice to the family-operated practice led by Dr. Casey Cazes today, each chapter of our history has been shaped by the dentists, team members, and patients who have made Hill Country Dental Associates more than just a place for dental care.

While the faces and leadership have evolved over the years, our commitment to compassionate, personalized dentistry and the community we proudly call home remains unchanged.

1960s

A Foundation in Kerrville

Where our story began.

Every practice has a story, and ours reaches back to Dr. Werner Keidel Sr., DDS, who cared for patients in Kerrville during the 1960s.

His practice represents an early chapter in the history that would eventually become Hill Country Dental Associates.

Our Roots

In 1969, Dr. Emil C. Willmann established a foundation of trusted dental care in Kerrville, building relationships with local families and creating a practice rooted in personal attention, professionalism, and community.

His dedication to his patients laid the groundwork for what would eventually become Hill Country Dental Associates.

2001

A New Generation of Dentists

Drs. Jamie and Jennifer Bone arrive in Kerrville.

Following dental school, Dr. James (Jamie) Bone and Dr. Jennifer Bone moved to Kerrville and purchased Dr. Willmann's practice.

Together, they embraced the opportunity to serve the Hill Country community, continuing the tradition of personalized care while building lasting relationships with patients and their families. Their dedication helped shape the welcoming, relationship-centered dental practice that so many Kerrville families have come to know.

2005

Growing Together

The beginning of Hill Country Dental Associates.

As the practice continued to grow, Dr. James (Jamie) Bone and Dr. Jennifer Bone acquired the neighboring dental practice of Dr. John "Jay" Burditt.

By bringing together patients, dental professionals, and a shared philosophy of care, they established Hill Country Dental Associates.

This expansion marked an important milestone, allowing the practice to serve more families while preserving the personal relationships at the heart of its identity.

2012

A Place to Call Home

A new home for Hill Country Dental Associates.

Hill Country Dental Associates moved into its current location at 710 Hill Country Drive, Suite #1 in Kerrville.

The new facility provided room for the growing practice, expanded dental services, and a welcoming environment where patients could continue receiving comprehensive care from familiar faces.

More than a building, it became a place where generations of Hill Country families would continue sharing smiles, stories, and lasting relationships.

2024

A New Chapter of Ownership

Honoring our past. Investing in our future.

In 2024, U.S. Navy veteran Dr. Casey Cazes acquired Hill Country Dental Associates from Dr. James (Jamie) Bone and Dr. Jennifer Bone.

The vision was not to replace the practice's history, but to build upon it — preserving the relationships, values, and trusted care established over decades while thoughtfully investing in the future.

As a veteran-owned, family-operated practice, Casey and his wife Summer are proud to carry forward HCDA's legacy alongside the dedicated dental professionals who have helped make the practice a cornerstone of the Kerrville community.

With a shared commitment to clinical excellence, meaningful relationships, and community involvement, they continue building a dental home where patients and families feel known, valued, and cared for.

2026

Honoring a Legacy. Embracing the Next Chapter.

A tradition of care, carried forward.

In 2026, Hill Country Dental Associates entered another meaningful chapter as Dr. James (Jamie) Bone retired from clinical practice, and Dr. Jennifer Bone begins her transitioning to a reduced schedule to devote more time with her family.

For more than two decades, Jamie and Jennifer helped shape the practice through their dedication to patients, their team, and the Kerrville community. Their contributions remain an important part of the story of Hill Country Dental Associates.

As the practice navigates this transition, Dr. Casey Cazes and the HCDA team remain committed to preserving the relationships and continuity of care that patients have trusted for generations. While transitions are a natural part of any longstanding practice, the values that define Hill Country Dental Associates remain firmly rooted in the community it serves.

We are grateful for the foundation built by those who came before us and honored to carry that tradition forward.

Today & Beyond

Rooted in Kerrville. Growing with You.

Our history is still being written.

Today, Hill Country Dental Associates continues as a veteran-owned, family-operated dental practice under the leadership of Dr. Casey Cazes and Summer West-Cazes.

Together with our dentists, hygienists, assistants, and administrative team, we remain dedicated to providing comprehensive, compassionate dental care for patients of all ages.

Our commitment extends beyond dentistry. We believe in supporting our neighbors, investing in our community, and creating an environment where patients and team members feel like family.

As we look toward the future, we remain guided by the same principles that have shaped our past: trusted relationships, quality care, and genuine service to the people of the Texas Hill Country.

Different chapters. Shared values. One enduring commitment to care.

Provider Transition: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Rooted in Kerrville. Growing with you. A Tradition of Care, Carried Forward

After many wonderful years of caring for patients and families in the Texas Hill Country, Dr. James (Jamie) Bone and Dr. Jennifer Bone will be stepping back from patient care. Their retirements will coincide with the expiration of their dental licenses. Dr. Jamie’s official retirement will take place at the end of October 2026, and Dr. Jennifer’s is expected in 2027. We are deeply grateful for their care, dedication, and friendship.

Your care and appointments

Is Dr. Jamie treating patients?

No. Dr. Jamie has retired from clinical practice and will not be returning to patient care.

Can I still see Dr. Jennifer?

Dr. Jennifer Bone will continue seeing established patients on a limited, part-time schedule during her transition toward retirement. She is no longer accepting new patients. We are happy to welcome new patients with Dr. Casey Cazes and Dr. Jack Curtis.

Who will be my dentist?

Care will continue through our HCDA dentists and team. We will reach out individually in the coming days and weeks to explain any changes and coordinate next steps.

Is my appointment rescheduled?

Some appointments may need to be rescheduled. We will contact affected patients individually. Unless we contact you, please keep your scheduled appointment. If your appointment is approaching and you are unsure of the arrangements, please call 830-257-3000

Will I keep my hygienist?

Going forward, every effort will be made to retain current hygiene assignments. However, if change is required, we will be reaching out individually to discuss those changes only with impacted patients.

Do I need to find another dental practice?

No. You can continue receiving care at HCDA. We are committed to maintaining your trust and loyalty by making this transition as smooth as possible. We ask for your patience and cooperation during this time of transition.

Scheduling and Practice Operations

Will there be delays in scheduling?

Some patients may experience delays or rescheduling while we work through this transition. We anticipate these delays will be temporary as staffing is restored and the transition is completed. We will prioritize urgent dental needs and contact patients whose appointments are affected.

Are you hiring another dentist?

We are actively seeking an associate dentist who shares HCDA’s commitment to compassionate patient care. We will introduce any new dentist once arrangements are confirmed. Our current dentists and team will continue coordinating care throughout the transition.

Will staffing changes affect pricing or insurance?

The transition in dentist assignments does not themselves change HCDA’s fees or insurance practices. We review our fees periodically, and adjustments are anticipated at the beginning of 2027. Our team will discuss applicable fees and estimates with you before treatment. HCDA will remain out of network and continue filing insurance claims for patients. Coverage and benefits depend on your individual plan.

Emergency care and dental records

What should I do if I have a dental emergency?

Call 830-257-3000 If after hours, follow the emergency instructions on our recorded message. Please call rather than email for urgent concerns. Our continuing HCDA dentists will provide emergency coverage for affected patients.

Will my dental records remain at HCDA?

Yes. Your records, including X-rays, will remain at HCDA and be available to the HCDA dentist continuing your care. You do not need to transfer records to continue receiving care here. Dr. Casey Cazes, DDS, is the designated records custodian.
